So in my last journal I Reminisced about Gold and Silver and seeing the new Pokemon. I talked with several of you and it seems like many of us have fond memories about the second generation.
I first got my taste of Johto in the form of trading cards from japan I bought from a comic book store. I would unwrap a pack of cards and see Pokemon I had never seen before...

I still have those cards, they live in my bottom drawer under some old magazines. (Sorry about the crappy photo quality).

This was my baby. Opening a pack and seeing this Holographic Pichu card was the first time I had seen Pichu and I was completely dumbfounded. I showed it off so much, but never traded it, NO MATTER HOW MANY RATTATAS YOU OFFERED! The idea of pre-evolution confused me at first, but it was so cute.

I got this magazine later. It shows all the images of the second generation. I still have it, and will never let it go.

I used to gaze at these pages for hours, amazed at what I was seeing. The types are wrong in some cases and the names are in japanese except for Umbreon who is called "blackie". Cellebi is a cheap drawing done by someone who based the drawing off the sprite. There are even little check marks next to the Pokemon I caught when I eventually bought the game.
I've gotten so excited about HeartGold and SoulSilver, I realized how much I loved the Johto Pokemon! I just love all the new ideas brought with Gold/Silver: Eggs, Day/Night, New types, New region, New evolutions/Prevolutions, and the whole idea of NEW pokemon. I am a little unhappy with the new Trainer designs. I liked the original 'silver' character better than the new one.
Maybe this isn't interesting to anyone but me, but this was the time when I really came enthralled with Pokemon.
